Pay Panel Decision Soon

THE GOVERNMENT will take a decision on implementation of the Sixth Central Pay Commission within a fortnight. Sources said the empowered committee of secretaries tasked with reviewing the commission's report could go to the Union Cabinet with its recommendations at its meeting next week.
Government officials can expect an announcement before the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh delivers his last address to the nation on Independence Day Singh and his senior ministers were recently given a presentation by the cabinet secretary on the reeommendations.
